Endoscopy Summer Clinical Intern
Summary
The Endoscopy Internship will take place in our outpatient recovery area at Parkview Regional Medical Center. This Clinical Internship will allow an intern to gain hands-on experience, supporting patient care and clinical operations. Responsibilities include assisting with IV removal, helping patients dress and transfer to the restroom, escorting patients via wheelchair for discharge, and preparing recovery rooms between cases. This role provides an excellent opportunity to observe and learn within a fast-paced healthcare environment while building foundational patient care skills.
Preferred Skillsets:
On-the-job training will be provided; no prior clinical skills required. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and a willingness to learn.
Work Schedule:
Required days of the week: Monday–Friday. This requires roughly 40 hours per week. The work shift will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Preferred Fields of Study: Nursing, Pre-Med, Medical School
Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification or must take Parkview’s Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire. 2 years’ experience in a healthcare-related field training time will be determined based on experience currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18 two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted. Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required). Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire. Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school programs. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of computer skills and applications. Demonstrates the ability to think critically. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
