Summary
Physical Therapist Assistant
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and driven Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in a specialized outpatient clinic focusing on rehabilitating high-performance athletes across the age spectrum. In this role, you will practice strong clinical skills by working collaboratively with expert physical therapists to implement rehabilitative programs to safely return athletes of all ages to high-performance physical demands following musculoskeletal injuries or surgery. This will include, but is not limited to, sports injuries, post-operative cases, industrial injuries, and active adults.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with referring physicians and surgeons throughout Parkview Sports Medicine, Orthopedics NorthEast (ONE), Parkview Physician’s Group, and Workplace Ergonomics and Rehabilitation, ensuring collaborative care and streamlined communication to support optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individual treatment based on the therapist's evaluation and care plan for conditions including sports injuries, sprains/strains, post-surgical rehabilitation, orthopedic injuries, and work-related injuries.
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and modalities as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and post-discharge care.
- Collaborate with a Physical Therapist to identify updates, progress, and revisions to treatment plans, as needed, throughout the treatment process.
- Complete the appropriate documentation and billing in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
- All care is provided in accordance with the philosophy and essential functions of the hospital, the rehabilitation department, the Indiana State Practice Act, the American Physical Therapy Association, and other accrediting bodies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
- Current and valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (or eligible)
- CPR certification
- Strong clinical reasoning, strength progression knowledge, and manual therapy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- 1+ year of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy with experience in sports medicine (new graduates considered with strong clinical rotations)
- Certification or training in specialized techniques (e.g., McKenzie, Maitland, Graston, Strength Training)
- Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic)

Work Schedule:
Typical hours are Monday–Friday with flexible scheduling options. No weekend or holiday coverage is required.
