Accounts Payable Supervisor
Summary
Responsible for the AP lifecycle including invoices, payment requests, and expense reimbursements. Supervises and mentors Accounts Payable co-workers. Responsible for the daily management and development of strong accounts payable staff, including the development of high-quality performers able to follow process, adhere to policy, offer opportunities for improvement, and conduct themselves in line with the Parkview Standards of Behavior. Interfaces with co-workers and leaders throughout the entire organization. Effectively handles challenging calls from co-workers and suppliers while conducting themselves with a high degree of professionalism under challenging circumstances. Is instrumental in numerous Finance and system-wide projects and endeavors, representing Finance on many initiatives. Reports to and supports the Manager Financial Services.
Success in role is based on the following:
1) Provides timely and accurate payment of payables and employee reimbursements. Takes advantage of discounts when available.
2) Provides exceptional communication to staff, co-workers and suppliers, occasionally under challenging circumstances.
3) Exhibits leadership qualities in all facets of job, including various system projects and implementation of solutions identified.
4) Develops expertise in all matters of accounts payable.
5) Identifies opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies within accounts payable processes, holding costs in line with approved budgets, and identifies process improvement opportunities that benefit the organization.
6) Manages the design and implementation of accounts payable systems and provides support/guidance to system users and program specialists.
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years in related position; management or other demonstrated leadership experience required. 3-5 years experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.
