Summary
As a member of the Total Rewards leadership team, the Manager of Health and Voluntary Benefits is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and communication of Parkview's health and voluntary benefit programs. Ensures that benefit offerings are competitive, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s values and co-worker experience goals.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Strategy & Design: Leads the development and ongoing evaluation of health and voluntary benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and all other voluntary benefit offerings). Partners with Total Rewards leadership to align benefit strategy with organizational goals and workforce needs. Monitors market trends, regulatory changes, and benchmarking data to recommend enhancements.
Vendor & Plan Management: Manages relationships with external vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost efficiency. Participates in annual renewals, RFPs and contract/service delivery review. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.).
Employee Experience & Communication: Develops and executes communication strategies that promote understanding and engagement with benefit offerings. Leads open enrollment planning and execution, including system readiness, co-worker education, and issue resolution. Serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex employee benefit inquiries
Data Integrity & Oversight: Analyzes utilization trends and cost drivers to inform and improve Plan performance. Ensures accurate data integration between vendor benefit platforms, HPS and HRIS systems.
Team Leadership: Leads and develops a team of benefit professionals, fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement. Promotes cross-functional collaboration with HR, HPS, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in co-worker benefits, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience managing benefits in a large, complex organization (preferably healthcare or high-touch service industry).
- Strong knowledge of benefit regulations and compliance requirements. Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills. Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
