Workplace Violence Manager

Parkview Health Fort Wayne, IN (Onsite) Full-Time

Summary

The Manager of Workplace Violence Prevention leads the development, implementation, and oversight of Parkview’s comprehensive workplace violence prevention strategies for the enterprise. Collaborates with executive, clinical, and operational leaders and stakeholders, chairs system-wide committees, and drives data-informed, proactive initiatives to mitigate risk and foster a culture of safety for providers and co-workers.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Collaboration: Leads and facilitates executive-level and clinical committees focused on workplace violence prevention. Serves as the primary liaison between system leadership, clinical teams, and external agencies regarding workplace violence matters. Collaboratea with the Director of Safety, VP, CQSO, and other leaders to build a cohesive workplace violence management team. Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and community partners.

Program Management: Oversees the Workplace Violence Prevention Program for all system locations, ensuring alignment with Parkview’s mission and goals. Collaboratively develops, implements, and evaluates system-wide policies, procedures, and training programs related to workplace violence prevention. Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices. Manages program budgets, staffing, and resources, including grant development and implementation.

Data Analysis, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement: Systematically collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data from multiple sources (e.g., incident reports, occupational health, workers’ compensation, police reports) to identify trends and risk factors. Monitors and evaluate the effectiveness of workplace violence prevention strategies, making recommendations for improvement. Stays abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices through professional development and participation in relevant forums. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices and share with broader teams. Presents data-driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership, committees, and other audiences. Leads and/or collaborates on focused risk assessments to identify and close gaps in safety risks.

Education & Training: Ensures training programs are current, effective, and meet regulatory requirements. Serves as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, and program advocate.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master’s degree preferred.

Must have RN in Indiana or Ohio. Must have valid drivers license. Essentials of Aggression Management or Parkview's Aggression Management Level 1 and Level 2 certifications required or obtained within 12 months of hire.

Minimum 3 years of clinical or behavioral health experience, preferably in acute care. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience or comparable experience leading teams, committees or projects. Experience with workplace violence prevention, safety program management, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Demonstrated commitment to patient and workforce safety. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to compose and edit documents for diverse audiences. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to synthesize complex information and present actionable insights. Demonstrated emotional intelligence, adaptability, and resilience under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
