Summary
Summary
Crisis call services offer real-time access to a live person every moment of every day (24/7/365) for individuals in crisis. Provides telephonic crisis intervention services to all callers, assessing risk of suicide that meets National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) standards and danger to others, and offers high-quality coordination of crisis care in real-time within each call. Responsible for answering HelpLine telephone inquiries for safe, efficient, and timely triage of callers to assure that patients presenting with psychiatric/substance abuse are directed to the appropriate level of care. Functions performed on the telephone include, triaging of patients to appropriate intensity level: emergent, urgent, and routine care; coordinating admissions to inpatient and outpatient programs; scheduling of urgent and ambulatory appointments; assisting in appropriate linkage to services in the community; and tracking log of all inquiry calls including demographics, referral source, and disposition. Provides education about community resources and how to access services when screening patient and family mental health needs. Coordinates crisis response and care with the Crisis Mobile Team Response and Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Facilities. Responsible for the delivery of Parkview Health Standards of Behavior, quality performance, and service excellence.
EducationHigh School diploma or GED completion. Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, preferred. Training and competency in the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) upon hire.
Licensure/CertificationAddendums are required for 0153 Nurse Leader, 0249 Registry RN, 0252 Registered Nurse, 0235 Advanced Registered Nurse, and 0236 Expert Registered Nurse. To view addendums, go to the job description page on Parkview’s intranet.
ExperienceTwo years’ experience in the health care, mental health, substance use, or human services field. Psychiatric hospital or crisis response preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Epic preferred.
Other QualificationsMust be available to work flexible hours and days of the week including weekends and evenings, must have good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds shared lifting.
