Employee My Well Being Summer Non-Clinical Intern
The MyWell-Being intern will assist in creation and implementation of various programs and resources available to Parkview Health Coworkers, including Parkview BikeShare, Parkview Pacers, MyWell-Being Walk Across Indiana Challenge, MyWell-Being Walking Club, MyWell-Being Intramurals, MyWell-Being Renewal Workshops and MyWell-Being Blog postings. The intern will be overseen by the department Supervisor and Coordinator. Other duties will be established by the Supervisor and Coordinator of the MyWell-Being department on an as needed basis.
The intern will be heavily involved in our late Spring/Summer/early Fall offerings including, but not limited to: Parkview BikeShare, Parkview Pacers, MyWell-Being Walking Club, MyWell-Being Intramurals, MyWell-Being Renewal Workshops and MyWell-Being Blog postings.
The main project of focus for the intern will be supporting in our exercise related opportunities. This involves a combination of our Parkview Pacers, MyWell-Being Walk Across Indiana Challenge and MyWell-Being Walking Club. These programs have significant overlap, encouraging co-workers to increase their daily movement. The goal for the intern will be to increase numbers or participants in all three components from 2024. The Parkview BikeShare program will also be a focus for the intern, increasing awareness and again looking to increase utilization numbers on the PRMC campus. Finally, assisting in the creation of, and implementing, MyWell-Being Intramural events will be a focus. The Intramural events include Pickleball, Sand Volleyball, Cornhole, Yoga, Field Day, Basketball, Bowling and Euchre.
Alternative projects will include creation of bi-weekly blog postings for the MyWell-Being SharePoint page, and assisting with preparation for the MyWell-Being Renewal Workshops.
The intern will need to understand Microsoft Office for usage daily. The ability to have 1:1 conversation and present to small groups. Detail oriented skills and the ability to adjust focus, working on various projects at one time.
The work schedule for this internship is Monday through Friday. Day Shift. Hours will be based on need during the regular work week on Monday-Friday, ranging from 6:00am to 9:00pm. Early morning starts, and late evening finishes will occur occasionally and no more than once per week, again as needed.
This Summer Internship would best fit a student that has an area of study in the following:
- Health and Wellness
- Health Science
- Health Education
- Exercise Physiology
- Kinesiology
- Dietetics
- Public Health
Must be current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. Specific license and/or certification may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. GPA of 3.0 or above Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
