Pediatric Outpatient Rehab Summer Non-Clinical Intern
Summary
Job Description:
This internship offers students hands-on experience in a therapy clinic setting. Interns will assist with departmental cleaning and logs, observe therapy sessions, create therapy materials, and provide minimal support at the front desk. This role is designed to give students meaningful exposure to clinical operations and therapeutic practices while developing professional skills in a healthcare environment.
Projects:
Interns will be assigned a patient to follow throughout the summer, allowing them to observe ongoing treatment and progress. Additionally, they will complete a project focused on developing therapy materials specific to their discipline that will directly benefit the clinic.
Preferred Skills:
The most important quality for this internship is flexibility, as daily tasks and schedules may vary.
Work Schedule:
This internship requires 27–30 hours per week, with preference for Monday through Friday. Hours can be flexible within clinic operations (Monday–Thursday 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Friday 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). Students pursuing degrees in speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or audiology are encouraged to apply.
Must be a current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. A specific educational focus or degree may be preferred, depending on the hosting department of the internship. A specific license and/or certification may be preferred, depending on the hosting department of the internship. GPA of 3.0 or above. Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
