Furnishings Technician
Summary: Responsible for the daily activities related to the timely and efficient delivery, installation, disassembly and reconfiguration of furniture systems (including accessories) within Parkview facilities, delivering a high degree of workmanship and customer satisfaction. In addition, performs general skilled work associated with the repair, maintenance and operation of systems furniture. Deliveries furniture and other products between Parkview facilities and identified warehouse locations; qualified to operate the appropriate delivery vehicle(s) for delivery of these items. Assists with required documentation for furniture products used in healthcare settings within Parkview Health.
Education: High school Graduate or GED. Must maintain ongoing working knowledge of Parkview’s standard furniture systems through vendors’ online training courses as directed by Supervisor annually.
Licensure/Certification: Must previously have received, or receive within 90 days of employment, a Certificate of Completion from Steelcase for training on furniture systems utilized at Parkview Health. Must hold a Driver's License with a For-Hire Endorsement or obtain within 90 days of employment.
Experience: Two years’ experience installing furniture systems (Steelcase, Herman Miller, Hayworth, etc.) preferred. One years’ experience driving a box truck required. Experience with product moving equipment (fork lift, pallet jack, dollies, etc.) and basic hand and power tools preferred. Previous moving experience preferred. Experience within a healthcare environment preferred. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction and CAD installation drawings. Demonstrated ability to field measure a worksite in preparation for installation. Must understand furniture systems electrical and data requirements and be able to identify electrical distribution requirements on installation plans. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to lift 100 pounds, and able to lift 300 pounds with shared lifting or mechanical assistance.
