PPG Physical Therapy Assistant
Summary
Performs physical therapy procedures delegated by a physical therapist to treat medically referred patients with physical disabilities. Assesses and reports progress or problems in attaining maximal function. Implements a treatment plan based on the physical therapist's evaluation and plan of care to address patient needs. Completes the appropriate documentation and billing in a timely manner. All care is provided in accordance with the philosophy and essential functions of the hospital, the rehabilitation department, the Indiana State Practice Act, the American Physical Therapy Association, and The Joint Commission.
EducationMust have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited PTA program.
Licensure/CertificationMust hold or be eligible to receive a PTA license in the state where services will be provided within the first 90 days of employment. Must be certified in CPR or must become certified within the first 90 days of employment. Must maintain all certifications and licensure according to the expiration date. American Physical Therapy Association membership preferred. If assigned to drive a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required. If assigned to drive a personal vehicle, proof of insurance is required in addition to a valid driver’s license.

ExperienceHealthcare experience preferred. Work experience preferred, but not required, other than clinical experience within an educational training program.
Other QualificationsKnowledge of imaging the various anatomical structures. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds; and assist with 100 pounds. Must be willing to work at other locations as assigned.
