Community Nutrition - VeggieRx - Summer Non-Clinical Intern
This VeggieRx Summer Internship will produce prescription programs have been introduced as a practice to help at-risk populations consume more fresh produce. The VeggieRx program fortifies Parkview's relationship with our providers, as the VeggieRx program allows them to dispense a tangible, healthy food incentive to their health-marginalized patients. The VeggieRx intern will: 1. Work with the VeggieRx team during the program implementation following established processes, 2. Assist with the program's educational sessions such as set up, tear down, and participant data collection 3. Collaborate with team members during meetings and off-site events, 4. Support the Food Assistance & Support team with providing project management and data collection. This internship will review and revise VeggieRx program materials, assist with development of standardized forms and processes.
We are looking for a upperclassmen college student with experience with databases, Excel, project management software, customer service skills, comfort with interacting with community members in person and over the phone, familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy. The degree program that would best fit this position include Public Health, Health Informatics, Translational Science, Community Health and Wellbeing.
The working hours are Monday-Friday and 40 hours per week. This will traditionally be first shift, with some evening and weekend commitments through the summer. Must be a current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. Specific license and/or certification may be preferred depending on the hosting department of the internship. GPA of 3.0 or above Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
