Lead Cook

Parkview Health Fort Wayne, IN (Onsite) Full-Time

Summary

Lead: In the conjunction with the Nutrition Services Supervisor, the Lead Cook will be responsible for all presentations and timeliness of the meal service. The Lead will assist with daily operations of department and staffing needs. Also, under the direction of the Nutrition Services Manager and Supervisor, other functions of the Nutrition Services Lead Cook will focus on providing nutritious and well presented food for the areas in retail, patient services, and coffee kiosks following the recipe guidelines. This position is responsible for excellence in appearance of all foods served in the Nutrition support areas. Responsibilities include the established temperature and sanitation guidelines.

Education 

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED.

Experience 

Food preparation experience and knowledge of sanitation requirements in a healthcare setting is preferred. 2 years preferred experience in leading food service operations.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
