Lead Internal Auditor
Summary
Summary: Responsible for leading assurance and advisory engagements within assigned areas to evaluate internal controls, operational effectiveness, adherence to policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance. Oversees the development and follow-up of corrective action plans to provide reasonable assurance to Parkview Leadership that identified risks are addressed promptly and effectively. Supports Internal Audit leadership in developing the internal audit work resource plan and is a key contributor to continuous risk assessment across the health system. Coaches and directs junior auditors assigned to engagements. Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with leadership at multiple levels across the organization. Leads by example and in alignment with organizational values.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, accounting, finance, IT, business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (CHIAP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), or related designation is required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive internal audit or related experience, with healthcare experience a plus. Experience leading in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience in communicating complex technical matters. Expert knowledge and experience in conformance with the Global Internal Audit Standards. Thorough understanding and expertise in risk identification, reduction, and mitigation across the spectrum of the healthcare risk landscape. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Expert in establishing and executing engagement objectives and effectively presenting information and/or data to leaders and diverse groups for decision-making. Exceptional problem-solving skills, superb attention to detail, and project management leadership skills, including a critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and within budgeted resources while meeting agreed-upon deadlines. Strong knowledge of data analytics. Adept at relationship building and management.
