Summary
Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative programs to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, and restore function following musculoskeletal injuries or surgeries.
You will work in a fast-paced outpatient setting with a diverse orthopedic caseload, including sports injuries, post-operative cases, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with referring physicians and surgeons, ensuring collaborative care and streamlined communication to support optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' physical conditions using tests, medical history, and observation to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Design and implement treatment interventions for conditions including joint replacements, sports injuries, sprains/strains, post-surgical rehabilitation, generalized pain conditions, work-related injuries, and balance.
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and modalities as appropriate.
- Maintain close professional collaboration with referring physicians and orthopedic surgeons to coordinate care, provide timely updates, and optimize treatment plans based on medical findings and progress.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and post-discharge care.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s Degree in physical therapy from an accredited program
- Current and valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist (or eligible)
- CPR certification
- Strong clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:
- 1+ year of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy (new grads considered with strong clinical rotations)
- Certification or training in specialized techniques (e.g., McKenzie, Maitland, Dry Needling, Graston)
- Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic)

Work Schedule:
Typical hours are Monday–Friday with flexible scheduling options. No weekend or holiday coverage required.
