Summary
Job Summary:
The Captain/Supervisor/Specialist of Technology, Spillman, and Accreditation is a key leader within the Police & Public Safety Professional Development team, overseeing daily operations, data management, video oversight, and policy compliance. Collaborates with the Chief of Police/Corporate Director of Public Safety to manage all technology services within the department, coordinating with Parkview IS teams to ensure safe, efficient technology use.
Key responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the Spillman database, ensuring compliance with monthly National Incident-Based Reporting (NIBR), and managing accreditation processes by updating policies and training programs. This role also supervises the Watchguard Body Camera program, 911 Cellular, EVOLV Concealed Weapons Detection Systems, and access control, badging, and alarm systems. Regularly liaises with external vendors for technology updates, maintenance, and installation needs and works closely with the Deputy Chief/Manager of WPV and Threat Assessment on risk assessment and workplace violence prevention initiatives.
Supervises the Public Safety Data Coordinator and Public Safety Technology Coordinator.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduation preferred within one year of hire.
- Associate’s degree preferred, or completion within 24 months.
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Spillman Administrator Certification within six months of hire.
- Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Basic Life Support (CPR) certifications within 90 days.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in healthcare security, general security, law enforcement, military, or a related field required.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to work with Parkview IS for network and security systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Availability for varied hours, including nights and weekends.
- Familiarity with access control, surveillance, body-worn cameras, and Spillman Report Administration across the health system.
High School diploma/GED or equivalent required. Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduate at hire or within one year of hire, preferred. Associate’s degree preferred or obtained within 24 months.
Licensure/CertificationValid Driver's License required. Spillman Administrator Certification required within six months of hire. Non-Violent Crisis Prevention course, Basic Life Support (CPR) for Health Care Providers is required within ninety (90) days of employment.
Experience
5+ years verifiable experience in Health Care Security, General Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or other closely related fields is required.
Other QualificationsMust be able to work in conjunction with Parkview Information Services Dept. for network access and security systems. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be available to work varied and flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed. Must have working knowledge of systems in regards to access control, video surveillance, body worn cameras, and Spillman Report Administration utilized across the health system.
