Deputy Chief Police/Manager
Summary
Job Summary
Parkview Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Chief of Police / Security Manager to lead day-to-day public safety operations across assigned facilities. This leadership role ensures the protection of Parkview buildings, equipment, and grounds, and promotes a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. With a strong emphasis on service excellence, this position oversees both personnel and resource management, conducts incident reviews, and drives departmental compliance and readiness.
Key Responsibilities

Direct daily security operations, resource allocation, and staff oversight for assigned Parkview facilities.

Ensure timely completion of all routine duties by team members.

Serve as a mentor to Police/Security Officers and a resource to facility staff.

Supervise and guide investigations, analyze incident trends, and redirect patrol services as needed.

Ensure completion of all mandatory annual training by staff.

Chair the Workplace Violence Committee and report out on safety-related matters to the Environment of Care Committee.

Partner with the Director of Emergency Management on preparedness planning.

Administer corrective actions in accordance with Parkview Health policies.

Complete annual performance evaluations for assigned staff.

Review officer-involved vehicle accidents and use-of-force incidents for compliance.

Oversee incident reporting systems (e.g., Midas) and ensure appropriate follow-up.

Participate in hospital leadership meetings.

Prepare and submit monthly security activity summaries (e.g., workplace violence, arrests, use-of-force).

Foster relationships with local law enforcement and emergency response partners.
Education Requirements
-
Associate’s degree or at least 60 credit hours toward a bachelor’s degree required.
Licensure & Certification
-
IAHSS Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator preferred.

Valid state driver’s license required.

Must obtain certification through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy within one (1) year of employment.
Experience Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or security roles.

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, military, or related field.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
