Summary
Job Summary:
Parkview Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will provide professional patient care by evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting individualized treatment plans. You will work collaboratively with other therapy staff, including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through purposeful, goal-oriented activity-based therapy.
Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, and implement occupational therapy programs as prescribed by physicians.

Select therapeutic activities based on patient history, evaluation, and individual needs and goals.

Collaborate with and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in delivering patient care.

Plan and direct special educational or diversional events when appropriate.

Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and billing in a timely and accurate manner.

Educate patients, families, and caregivers in follow-up care and home therapy programs.

Provide care in compliance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards.
Education Requirements:
-
Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree if graduated prior to 1/1/2002.

Master’s degree required if graduated after 1/1/2002.

International candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.

Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure & Certification:
-
Must hold or be eligible for Occupational Therapy licensure in the applicable state within 90 days of employment.

CPR certification required within the first 90 days of employment.

Must maintain current licensure and certification as required.

Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association preferred.

If assigned a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required.
-
If using a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
Experience:
-
Clinical experience from an accredited educational program required.
-
Additional relevant work experience preferred, but not required.
Other Qualifications:
-
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
-
Flexibility to work at other Parkview locations as needed.
