Manager Oncology Navigation
Summary
The Manager Oncology Nurse Navigator’s focus is to assure quality, cost-effective outcomes for patients and their families from the time of their initial diagnosis through their journey to survivorship. Assures that the support Services Team (Oncology Nurse Navigators and Oncology Social Workers) work collaboratively with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to overcome barriers to patient progress and desired outcomes. Assures the provision of a network of education, physical, emotional, spiritual, psychosocial and financial assistance is provided to patients and families. This includes information on community and national resources.
Education
Must have a BSN from accredited program. Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
Licensure/Certification
Valid Indiana Registered Nurse License required. Certification in oncology preferred or must obtain within 2 years of employment.
Experience
Minimum of two - three years nursing experience, oncology experience preferred along with experience in patient navigation preferred.
Other Qualifications
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
