Manager Medical Staff Svcs

Summary

Manages medical staff coordinators for system hospitals and serves as a resource to medical staff coordinators at Parkview Surgical Centers to ensure effective communication and coordination of system-wide initiatives. Responsible for operations associated with medical staff services functions, including medical staff meetings, credentialing and privileging, orientation, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Policies, disciplinary issues, financial accounts, amenities, and budget. Serves as liaison with Medical Staff, Hospital leadership, and other departments across the system, while maintaining confidentiality. Facilitates process improvement and supervises clerical and administrative support for members of the Medical Staff and leadership. Collaborates with Chief Medical Officers, utilizing critical thinking to prioritize, assess barriers and opportunities for improvement, and provide excellent customer service. Works closely with Director of Medical Staff Services.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business administration or other related field.

Licensure/Certification

National Certification as Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) required within two years; or will obtain upon eligibility.

Experience

Minimum five years of experience in an acute care hospital or other related healthcare setting. Experience in medical staff services, physician relations or provider management, with multi-faceted understanding of infrastructure relative to medical staff/provider services, is preferred.

Other Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must have recognized leadership qualities. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customers, particularly physicians and hospital administration. Ability to lead with innovative thought and impact. Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to execute plans and implement changes. Medical terminology desired.
